Gregory Canyon Landfill Call to Action

Dear Army Corps of Engineers:

A dedicated coalition of Native American tribes, environmental groups, elected officials, and individuals have been fighting to prevent the Gregory Canyon Landfill for nearly two decades. This proposed garbage dump was rejected time and again by San Diego County officials, only to be put through a misleading public vote that allowed the out of state developers to circumvent normal public approval processes. A LANDFILL IN GREGORY CANYON IS NOT IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST.

A dump in Gregory Canyon would threaten precious and dwindling water supplies, defile Native American sacred sites, destroy wildlife habitat, and spoil scenic values. Above all, expanded landfill capacity and new technologies in waste management mean this dump is not even needed in San Diego.

Please do the right thing and DENY the permit for the Gregory Canyon Landfill.
